Layoffs suck. Kudos to Stripe for being very generous in what they’re doing for employees being laid off. Will be interested to see how this contrasts with what Twitter does…

I’ve been laid off a couple times. Once I got 6 weeks of severance which was nice, and I was lucky because I had a job the next day. The second time I got basically 2 weeks. And that was brutal and stressful. Ended up taking a job I didn’t really want because I had to have one. I was applying to other jobs immediately, and then left it a few months later. Which I felt bad about.

Paying any amount of money for verification is silly. Verifying users is a benefit to Twitter. They should be offering users money to do it

I for one am very thankful that Elon Musk is here to protect the town square of the internet.

We need something just like the real world town square. Which I go to daily to share thoughts. I go there and put up posters with my ideas and maybe some offensive memes. And it’s great because I have a right to free speech. So I’m allowed to plaster these on any part of the town square I want. And they have to keep them up. Taking down my posters would be violating my free speech.

Yes I’m very thankful we’re protecting Twitter and keeping it open just like my favorite town square.
