This is my evening this New Years Eve. I want so badly to be able to say that this is where I want to be right now, but I know it’s not quite true. There are friends I’d rather be spending time with, playing games with, and having a couple beers with.
It’s appropriate, I think, that I read this piece by J.D. Bentley last night. I love my girls a lot. It’s amazing how having kids will have you finding great joy in the most simple things. Yet still sometimes often times I don’t feel sufficient. One of my prayers for 2018 is not that I will spend more time with them but that my heart for them will be better. That I will want to spend more of the time with them that I already do. That spending time with them will be a choice I make and relish.
